Day-to-Day Work
Most days a surgeon will perform at least one surgery. They may perform more depending on how long each surgery will last. When they are not performing surgery, they will be meeting with patients who are having surgery done or are needing surgery. With those patients, they talk about procedures they might have done or the plan of treatment.

Working Conditions
A surgeon works long, irregular hours in a hospital. They most likely will have to work weekend or be on call on the weekends. Sometimes a surgeon will work over 24 hours with out sleeping. A surgeons hours all depends on the number of patients that they have to see that day. Also, surgeons will have to stand for hours when they are performing surgery.

Advantages & DisadvantagesThere are some advantages to being a surgeon. One thing, you will being saving the lives of people. But with that there is a disadvantage. The disadvantage is what if your patient never makes it out of surgery? You will have to tell the family that the patient is dead. Also, you will feel like it is your fault that that patient died. Another disadvantage is that a surgeon works long hours. This is one reason many surgeons don't have families, because they will never have time to spend with there family if they have one.
